Dr. Sunil Dwarkanath Khapardeis superannuated as Advisorpublic health at Ministry of health and family welfare Government of India. Recent back he was Deputy Director General, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, a National Program Manager of Tuberculosis, Heading Central TB Division, Project Director, RNTCP.
He has done MD in community medicine from Govt Medicalcollege and Ph. D from IIPS, Mumbai with degree in LLB. He has vast working experience of 40 years in public health, government services.
And in his previous assignments he has worked as Director family welfare training and research centre Mumbai, he work as Dupty Director General at National AIDS Control Organisation (DDG- NACO) Program manager for STI & Basic services ,PPTC, ICTC of HIV/ AIDS. Director for National Blood Transfusion Council, Deputy Commissioner (Immunization,) He has been awarded the fellowship from various national international organizations such as WHO, UNAIDS, British Council and Australian AIDS. In the field of universal immunization, polio, RCH, Tuberculosis, HIV, blood Safety, Sexual & Reproductive Health etc. In addition he is member of many technical committee and professional associations and has been awarded with many public health champion awards. He has to his credit many research articles published in various national and international journals.
Under signed was the ex - Director of National Blood Transfusion Council, Govt. of India, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare during and Member Secretary of TRG on Blood Transfusion Services, NACO, Govt. of India.
During his tenure as DDG NACO and Director of National Blood Transfusion Council, Govt. of India, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare undersigned performed following taskduring 2013 to 2015.
Under his leadership as a Deputy Director General (TB) Prepared the National Strategic Plan 2017 - 2025 for elimination of TB by 2025 with total paradigm shift in Revised National Tuberculosis Control Program in India, I was globally appreciated and he was honoured with the paradigm shift award for his contribution by WHO/Stop TB partnership an UN organisation at international conference of TB and lung diseases at Mexico in Oct 2017.
Dr sunilkhaparde is main architect for developing the India’s National Strategic Plan 2017 – 2025 to eliminate TB by 2025. Under his technical leadership Ministry of health and family welfare Organized the Delhi END TB Summit which was inaugurated by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi , and committed to implement India’s National Strategic Plan 2017 – 2025 to elimination
of TB by 2025 .
Dr. Sunil Kharpade, Advisor Public Health MOHFW deputed as- Team Leader for the High Level Multi-Disciplinary Central team for Mumbai ,Maharashtra constituted by Ministry of health and Family Government of India for COVID 19 to assist the State Health department and Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) in all the activities pertaining to the COVID-19 scenario for implementing and preparing of containment plan, Cluster and large outbreak Containment plan , check hospital preparedness, Intensive Care Units, Ventilators and response for COVID 19. For Mumbai , Maharashtra.
Dr Sunil Khaparde Advisor Public Health MOHFW identified as member of Inter-ministerial central team for Mumbai , Maharashtra constituted by Ministry of Home Affair Government of India , under the disaster management Act 2005 for COVID 19 to assess the compliance and implementation of Lock down measure, supply of essential commodity , social distancing and movement of people outside their home , preparedness of health infrastructure , hospital facilities including availability of PPE kits mask, safety equipment and condition of labour camp and poor people .
During the COVID19 Pandemic undersigned have played major role as COVID warrior and public health front worker .he was central team lead member of MOHFW for Mumbai and Maharashtra, my major role and contribution in reducing the and preventing COVID19 Cases control the growth rate and mortality due COVID 19 in Mumbai and the it Dharavi biggest slum of Asia, It was successful model and appreciated by WHO and internationally and nationally . .
